Friday - February 1, 2008
African American Museum Celebration Hall
55 12th Ave SE -
Cedar Rapids, IA
The day’s activities begin
with an opportunity for the over 150 growers in the immediate area and
INCA members from around Iowa to network, learn, and plan for a regional
food system—where we’ve been, where we are, and how far we can go!
Following is a Local Foods Reception, a special screening of KING CORN
and a panel discussion as a Fundraiser to benefit the Local Foods
Connection
(www.localfoodsconnection.org) and Community Gardens initiative in the Oakhill
Jackson Neighborhood of Cedar Rapids. Local Foods Connection provides CSA
shares and education to families in need in the Iowa City area.
Contributions will allow expansion of this service to the Cedar Rapids
area.
